A few weeks ago, a local company approached us because they had parted ways with their IT provider. The new company owner was very switched on but had just fallen victim to a £100,000 cybercrime hoax. You see cybercriminals had managed to gain hold of his accounts personnel Office365 credentials and sneak into his systems undetected. They had then placed a forwarder on their emails, so that they got a copy of every email that came or left. At an appropriate point, they intercepted an email chain, put their own bank details in and the rest is history.

This is criminal and so immoral! You shouldn’t have to worry about this at any time, but certainly not now with everything that is going on. What’s more, we know that cybercriminals are actively seeking out home workers now. They socially engineer them into giving away their usernames and passwords and it doesn’t matter if you have MFA or dual factor authentication turned on. They can easily get past this.

Our security aware clients are routinely protected because we have these tools turned on, but we know from what we saw with this poor business owner, that a lot of IT support companies don’t offer this level of support. You might have all the sophisticated firewalls and hardware, but this is of little use if your users have had their credentials stolen.

  • Can you be sure your staff haven’t clicked a rogue link?
  • Do you know if there is a cybercriminal hiding in your Office 365 account right now?

We want to keep you safe.  That’s why we’d like you to take us up on the offer of a FREE Office 365 security check that will:

  • Clearly highlight any security flaws in the set up of your Office 365 system by delivering an in-depth report.
  • Check all four locations to make sure there are no ‘hidden’ forwarders placed on any of your accounts.
  • Run a login tracker to show all the successful and unsuccessful logins to your Office365 accounts over the past 90 days.

If there is anything suspicious found, of course we can put it right for you, if you want us to.

Or, if you have your own IT support company, you can get them to sort it.

We just don’t want to see anyone else suffer in the way this customer did, when we have Tools that can protect and monitoring systems that can make sure they stay protected even if you/your staff do fall victim to a scam.
