Yes, believe it or not, for one reason or another, we have only just got around to our Christmas celebration.  No we didn't have crackers or santa hats but we did have an excellent night out at Mint in Yardley.
We were given the opportunity by Pip Howe, Director at KLM to attend a fundraiser meal at Mint in Stoney Lane. It was a good night with a great atmosphere. The food and service at Mint was excellent.
The night was in the name of a really good cause http://www.africanspace.co.uk/about-us-2/african-space-trust/ and is targeted specifically at the Itete Medical Centre Project, in the Kilombero Valley, Tanzania. See if you can spend a minute looking at the web site.
The African Space Trust aims to support developmental and conservation initiatives, through fundraising and practical assistance, in areas of Africa through which African Space groups travel. Their  first challenge - and not a small one - is to work with the people of Itete Village in central Tanzania to construct and equip a new medical centre essential in the fight against high infant mortality rates, malarial infection and other ailments common to areas of rural Africa. Currently, the nearest hospital is 90km away, a journey of up to two days in the wet season when the roads are impassable.
We wish them every success for the future and Merry Christmas!!
